Foundation operations

To ensure that the foundations are solid and stable before erecting a structure, profiles such as tubes, H piles, IPN beams, wooden piles and mooring posts can be driven in by conventional or vibratory pile driving.

In contrast to ‘traditional’ foundation methods, using impact or vibratory pile drivers to install the piles does not require any excavation or drilling and therefore does not impact the structure of the soil or disturb the existing landscape, thus greatly reducing the cost of the operation.

The profiles are usually driven in by free handling / excavator mounted vibrators or if space is tight, by pneumatic or hydraulic impact hammers.

Some examples of foundations driven in by us using impact or vibratory pile drivers:

Special foundations

Type of profile and method used: vibration-driven drilled tube pile

Deep foundations

Type of profile and method used: tube or H pile – vibration or impact driven

Quay, pontoon or bank foundations

Type of profile and method used: tube, mooring post, sheet pile, wooden pile, H pile, vibration or impact driven

Small building and individual house foundations

Type of profile and method used: piled pier, wooden or H piles, vibration or impact driven

Soundproofing wall foundations

Type of profile and method used: H pile, vibration or impact driven

Single pile or windmills foundations (windmills)

Type of profile and method used: tube, vibration or impact driven

Photovoltaic / solar panel foundations

Type of profile and method used: H pile, vibration or impact driven

Retention or waterproofing operations

Temporary or permanent retaining walls can be installed when building basements, for containing a floor or a piece of ground or protecting a bank / beach from water erosion.

Banks can be protected either by a curtain wall of sheet piles or a mixture of sheet piles and piles, H piles or wooden piles.

The profiles can be driven in using free handling hydraulic vibrators mounted on pile driver masts or excavators, pneumatic or hydraulic impact hammers or a silent piler.

Some examples of the retaining walls we have built:

King post or H pile + panel wall

Type of profile and method used: H pile, vibration or impact driven

Screen or watertight enclosure, coffer dam or caisson

Type of profile and method used: steel or vinyl sheet pile curtain wall, vibration or impact driven

Bank, levee or sea wall defenses

Type of profile and method used: wooden pile, steel or vinyl sheet pile curtain wall, vibration or impact driven

Roadworks

Our equipment can be used to install horizontal (guardrail posts) and vertical road signs, photovoltaic panel fields, fences and drive in plant training posts.

Our impact hammers, pile drivers (and post drivers), and pneumatic or hydraulic guardrail post pile drivers can be used to drive in any small-sized profile such as H, I, U, C, DE2+, Omega, picket posts, wooden piles, etc.

The excavator-mounted vibrators can be used for compacting soil after digging by using a tamping plate..

The free handling and excavator mounted vibrators can be used for soil improvement through vibroflotation (or vibrocompaction), ballasted columns and derivatives and vibro-drilled and vibro-cemented piles.

Some roadworks we have carried out:

Guardrail post installation

Type of profile and method used: impact driven guardrail post

Vertical signpost, fence posts, support or prop posts installation

Type of profile and method used: post, wood or metal picket post, impact driven

Surface or deep level compaction

Type of profile and method used: All types of profile, vibration driven
